The Oakland Athletics announced multiple roster moves ahead of Tuesday’s game against the St. Louis Cardinals. Outfielder JJ Bleday has been placed on the 10-day injured list due to a left knee sprain, while right-handed reliever Angel Felipe will be sidelined for at least 15 days with a right elbow strain.
To fill their spots, the A’s reinstated catcher Carlos Pérez from the IL and called up right-hander Tayler Scott from Triple-A Las Vegas to join the bullpen.

Bleday appeared to have injured his knee while attempting a sliding catch in the outfield during Sunday’s game against the Nationals. He was not in the lineup for Monday’s matchup. Over 77 games this season, he has slashed .203/.313/.373 with 10 home runs and a 98 wRC+ across 284 plate appearances.
Felipe struggled in Monday’s loss to the Cardinals, recording just one out while issuing three walks and allowing three earned runs. Before that rough outing, he had been a reliable bullpen piece, posting a 2.45 ERA and a 3.07 FIP. His return timeline has yet to be determined.
Pérez, who fractured his thumb on July 1, is back in action after missing over a month. Prior to his injury, he played 49 games, hitting .232/.293/.384 with five home runs and a 90 wRC+. With his reinstatement, the A’s now have three active catchers, though Tyler Soderstrom has also seen time at first base.
Scott, who has previously pitched in six games for Oakland this season, has allowed eight hits and three runs while striking out five batters over 5.1 innings.
